The Northwestern Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will present a workshop, “Reaching for Quality Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care,” on Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Grundy County Senior Center in Trenton.

The workshop is for CNAs, personal assistants, family caregivers and others who wish to gain a greater understanding of caring for a person with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. The workshop will cover a variety of information about daily caregiving. The total cost for the day, including meals, is $5.

Four million people have Alzheimer’s disease and over 6,000 are affected here in Northwest Missouri. As the population ages, more than 14 million people will be diagnosed with the disease unless a cure or prevention is found.
