A.M. (Bud) Carter

A memorial gathering for A.M. (Bud) Carter is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Pattonsburg Multi-Purpose Center. Family and friends are invited to bring a basket dinner and to participate in the “Celebration of Life of the New Generations” gathering to share memories and sing and pray together. Private burial will be at Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pattonsburg School Music Department.

Amos Maenen (Bud) Carter, 69, formerly of Pattonsburg, died in Phoenix, Ariz., on Oct. 7, 1999. Mr. Carter was the last survivor of nine children born to William and Lavena Carter.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by a son, Ronald, on Oct. 10, 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Dilley and Sandy Shehi, both of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
