Virginia Johnson

Funeral services for Virginia Johnson were held Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at the Baptist Church, Jameson, with arrangements by Bram Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Pilot Grove #1 Cemetery, near Jamesport. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Church, Jameson, MO 64647, or Pilot Grove #1 Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Mildred Virginia (Robinson) Johnson, 77, Jameson, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Liberty Hospital.

A homemaker, Mrs. Johnson and her husband farmed south of Jameson, where they also managed a sod business for almost 40 years.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Grundy County, near Trenton. She was raised in that vicinity and graduated from Trenton High School. She had lived near Jameson for over 50 years.

In 1948, she married James W. Johnson in Gallatin. He died in 1989.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Jameson Baptist Church where she was active in the Bible School programs and the Women’s Missionary Union.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Morris and Elmo H. Robinson.

Survivors include four daughters, Willa McNeely, Jameson, Joanne Hylton, Liberty, Linda Hazlett, Holt, and Mary Gray, Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Rosemary Bear, Jamesport; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
