Funeral services for Jennie Stigers, a native of Gallatin, were held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Grace Episcopal Church, Liberty. Burial was at Mt. Ayer Cemetery in Altamont. The family suggests contributions to the Grace Episcopal Church.
Jennie C. Stigers, 86, Liberty, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Liberty Hospital.
Miss Stigers was born in Gallatin.
During World War II, she worked on the production line for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Buffalo, N.Y.. During that time she became a pilot.
Miss Stigers had been employed as a legal secretary.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, the Liberty Bell Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, the Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendants; and had volunteered for the Episcopal Social Services Meals on Wheels program.
