Daviess County Business Women’s Association met Sept. 14 at Breadeaux Pisa. Allison Spidle and Chanel Burge entertained the women by recounting their experiences at the week-long session of “Girl’s State” in Warrensburg in July.

Preceptor Zeta Chi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Sept. 13. Linda Adkins, program leader, arranged the meeting at Carolyn Peterson’s home, east of Hamilton. She gave the history of their farm and shared her knowledge of antiques. Several members took items for her appraisal. Nancy Salmon, hostess, served refreshments in the Antique Garden Shop. Sept. 20 meeting and social was held at the Gables in Trenton with Carol Wood as hostess. Carol Weaver’s program guest speaker was Steve Shoot of Farmers’ Electric Cooperative who gave a talk on the Area Youth Benefit Fund. The Oct 4 meeting will be at Linda Bridgman’s home.

Seven members of the Kill Kare Club met at the home of Jewell Carpenter on Sept. 20. The Club Creed was read for the opening. New club books were filled out for the new year. Roll call was “My favorite piece of mail I like to receive.” Members voted to give contributions to the Red Cross swim program, food pantry and fire victims. Nina Allen gave the minutes and treasurer’s report and Jewell served refreshments. The next meeting will be with Francie Toney on Oct. 18.
