The 7th annual fund raising events for the Farmers’ Electric ARea Youth Benefit Fund resulted in about $26,000.
The Seventh Annual fund raising events for the Farmers’ Electric Area Youth Benefit Fund (AYBF) raised approximately $26,000 on Aug. 8-9, according to Dan Bryan.
“Our dinner/auction and golf tournament were again successful in raising money toward our charity that helps families pay medical bills for children in our nine-county service area,” Bryan said. “This year we received additional financial assistance from Pepsi Cola Bottling of Brookfield, who was our co-sponsor for both events.”
“We even had an additional surprise this year with a young man hitting a hole in one and winning $10,000,” Bryan continued. “What a great way to end two very successful events.”
The 37-item main auction raised just under $13,000 Sunday night. Three different silent auctions, plus several raffles pushed the night’s proceeds to well over $20,000. A total of 263 AYBF supporters attended the dinner/auction, held at the new Elk’s Lodge in Chillicothe. On Monday, 54 three-person teams participated in a golf tournament at the Green Hills Golf Course, also in Chillicothe. Patty Mall of Grand River Gallery in Gallatin is among the businesses helping to make this annual event a success.
“We would like to thank the individuals and businesses who have supported us over the years,” Bryan said. “We have been able to provide about $117,000 in financial support in just six short years to area families. We couldn’t have accomplished this without the support of individuals and businesses throughout our nine-county area.”
