The 1999 Miss Festival of Virginia pageant was held in Lynchburg on July 16-17. Over $12,000 in scholarships, prizes and awards was given away.
Judges for the pageant were actor Patrick Michael (Star Trek VI, China Beach, the Discovery Channel’s Travelers), Miss North Carolina USA, Joy Hall; Miss South Carolina USA (Third Runner-up at Miss USA pageant), Lauren Poppell; Miss Maryland 1998, Heather Davis; Miss Virginia Teen USA 1998, Misty Horn; and Liberty University Offensive Lineman, Jeff Howard.
The Owner/Director of the Miss Festival of Virginia is Shana (Huff) Gammon. Shana has written a book on pageant tips/basics entitled Watching the Winners…Learning Their Style. The book will be released in October.
