Memorial services for Alice Defoor, a native of Altamont, were held July 31, 1999, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Madill, Okla. Arrangements were by Corbin Funeral Home in Tishomingo.

Alice Defoor, 72, died July 21, 1999, in Madill, Okla.

Mrs. Defoor was born in Altamont. She attended school in Florence, Colo.

She was employed as a health care provider.

Mrs. Defoor was engaged in a full-time Christian Ministry of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Madill.

She was married in 1945 to Marshall Gordon Defoor in Manitou Springs, Colo. He died in 1980.

Mrs. Defoor was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Lee Dooley; and two sisters, Aletha Tague and Mildred Rickey.

Survivors include two sons, Marshall Defoor, Jr., of Altus, Okla., and Jon Defoor of Santa Clarita, Calif.; four daughters, Mary Agee of Madill, Okla., Dorothy Defoor of Carlson, Ill., Jeannie Seely of Ardmore, Okla., and Alice Summers of Atwater, Calif.; two brothers, Ivan Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Alvan Smith of Gallatin, and six sisters, Lucille Bissy of LaPlata, Grace Butler of Phoenix, Ariz., Evelyn Dopheide of Gainesville, Fla., Martha Vicery of Southside, Ala., and Verna Summers and Margaret McDonald, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
