Graveside service and burial for George Jones will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallatin. The funeral procession will leave Bram Funeral Home at 9:45. Visitation is between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Gallatin Underwater Search and Fire Rescue Squad, c/o Gallatin Fire Department, Gallatin, MO 64640.

George Junior Jones, 80, Gallatin, died July 27, 1999, at Heartland Regional Medical Center West, St. Joseph.

Mr. Jones was born on the family farm in Daviess County near Gallatin. He was reared in Daviess County and spent his lifetime there. He served with the Army during World War II.

Mr. Jones was employed for many years by the Blackburn & Hockensmith Motor Company as an auto mechanic. He was also employed by the City of Gallatin as street maintenance supervisor and the Robertson Quarries in DeKalb County.

Mr. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin.

He married Velma Ruth Webser and they divorced. He then married Dorothy Watts, who preceded him in death. He later married Frances Barnett and they divorced.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by three brothers, Oren, Omer and James; and five sisters, Frances Ayres, Leona Woody, Offa Woody, Violet Tucker and Leora Albrecht.

He is survived by a brother, Donald, of Cameron.
