Funeral services for Lowell Hughes, father of Donald of Jamesport, were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 7) at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial was at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe. Memorial contributions may be sent to Brassfield Cemetery in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, 64601.
Lowell Wayne Hughes, 88, Chillicothe, died July 3, 1999, at a Chillicothe health-care center.
Mr. Hughes, a farmer, was born in Livingston County where he lived all his life.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
In 1933, he married Ollie F. Gibbens, Chillicothe. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Hughes was also preceded in death by two infant children.
Other survivors include three sisters, Gladys Nibarger and Elizabeth Benskin, both of Chillicothe, and Mildred Bowles, Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild
