Funeral services for Clinton Edwards, a graduate of Winston High School, were held Monday, July 5, at First Baptist Church, Maysville, with arrangements by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Burial was at Cameron Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Maysville, or First Christian Church, Cameron.
Clinton Lee Edwards, 24, Arizona City, formerly of Maysville, drowned June 28, 1999, in a swimming accident in Roosevelt Lake in Arizona City.
Mr. Edwards was born in Cameron. He was a resident of Maysville before moving to Arizona City six months ago.
Mr. Edwards was a volunteer youth director and Sunday school teacher at the Baptist Church in Arizona City, where he was also a member of the choir.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, I.J. and Irmina Clark; and paternal grandfather, Herbert Edwards.
Survivors include his parents, Carl and Sharon, Arizona City; two brothers, Aaron, Cameron, and Larry, Bossier, La.; a sister, Tracey Godley, Maysville; and paternal grandmother, Marie McLaughlin, Cameron.
