Memorial graveside service and inurnment for Charles Wells, a native of Jamesport, were held Tuesday, July 6, at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, with arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph.. The body was cremated. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Charles Edward Wells, 69, St. Joseph, died July 3, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.

Mr. Wells was born in Jamesport. He lived most of his life in St. Joseph.

Mr. Wells retired from the St. Joseph Police Department after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Christian faith. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Eagles Lodge and the Army Reserves.

In 1956, he married Ada Healey in Hiawatha, Kan. She survives of the home.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his mother, Connie.

Other survivors include a sister, Catherine, Amazonia.
