Funeral services for Myrtle Mae Smith, mother of Violet Merrigan of Coffey, were held Monday at Poland Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Burial was at Alta Vista Cemetery, Weatherby.

Myrtle Mae Smith, 93, Albany, formerly of Cameron, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at a Bethany, Mo., hospital.
Mrs. Smith, a homemaker, was born in Maysville. She recently moved to Albany after spending 17 years in Cameron.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fairport, Mo.
In 1927, she married Merle E. Smith in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith also was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma; four brothers; three sisters; and a grandchild.
Additional survivors include three other daughters, Betty Rinehart, Albany, Carol Farr, Stewartsville, Mo., and Janet Baker, Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, J.C. Pearl, Cameron; 11 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
