Funeral services for Alice Hornecker, formerly of Jamesport, were held at 10 a.m. on June 2 at Oregon Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Oregon Presbyterian Church or the Presbyterian Children’s Home.

Alice H. Hornecker, 94, Oregon, formerly of Mexico and Jefferson City, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at an Oregon health-care center.

Born in New Point, Mrs. Hornecker was a graduate of Oregon High School. She later o attended Park College, Parkville, and then received her master degree in social work from the University Missouri-Columbia.

Miss Hornecker taught at Woodville School, near Oregon; Oregon and New Point, schools; and Jamesport school for 19 years. She was then employed as a social worker, child welfare worker, and supervisor and training specialist for the State of Missouri Division of Welfare, retiring after 23 years.

Miss Hornecker was a member of Oregon Presbyterian Church; American Association of University Women; Sorosis and Priscilla clubs; and the Oregon Library Board.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth and Clara; and three brothers, William, Wesley and Osmer.

Survivors include a brother, Roy Hornecker, Oregon.
