Four Gallatin R-5 Stream Team members from Dennis Steigerwalt’s Advanced Biology Class presented information about the stream team and its activities to the Chillicothe Audubon Society on Wednesday, April 14, at the Litton Agri Center, Chillicothe.
Students made posters and graphs showing the hydrological (water) cycle, watershed and a good riparian zone. Students displayed pictures of the Grand River and aerial views of the Grand River north of Gallatin, in association with a topographical map.
Students explained about the equipment used to collect water quality data. They discussed data on macro invertebrates, chemical tests and flow rates, along with information on Forest Keepers data, which students also collect. Students then answered questions from Audubon members.
