Brother Bennett’s message was from II Kings 5:10-12. Prayer requests: Treva Meppelink, Harold England’s mother, Ralph and Elizabeth Moore, Gloria Lint’s brother, Lee Robertson, Mildred Thompson and Jerald Carlson.We had 75 in our morning service. The special was by Wilburn and Mary Lou Bennett.

Sunday night was the fourth Sunday sing and share service. We had several specials by different members. Bro. Clyde Lint read from Isaiah.

On April 30 and May 1 the ladies of the church will be having a garage sale in the church basement to raise money to send children to camp.

Fairview Community Church

Opening hymns and prayer were led by Betty McFee while John Stith read from Matthew 24:37- 39, prayer following. Sunday School concluded the book of Deuteronomy as Moses was laid to rest. The message was “The Holy Spirit: In the Beginning,” from Genesis 1:1-2.

Special prayers are for the Parker family, Gene and Ellen Burnam, George and Belle McFee, Merlin Wright, Brett Lang, Vern Bridgman, Pam Ward, Harold Allison, Void and Ann Eaton, Nancy Wolf, Gaylen Bridgeman and Norma Gault. Sunday evening services will resume at 6:30 p.m. on May 2.

Pattonsburg First Baptist

Sunday School attendance was 60. Bro. Ron’s message was “The Whole Armor of God” from Philippians 2:15, Isaiah 60, Ephesians 6:10-18 and Romans 13:11.

Prayer meeting at the parsonage is at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be a basket dinner following worship service next Sunday. Camp forms need to be turned in by May 1. Workers are needed.

Remember in prayer Charlene Morris, Steve Mayberry, Nadine Jordan, Dortha Fansher, Ralph Salmon, Ava Pugh, Jason Cornett, Cody Ratliff, Richard Shipers, Charlie Dannar and the family of Cystal Crone.

Pattonsburg UMC Charge

Valerie’s sermon was “Our Only Hope” from Psalm 23. Valerie, Joe and Dolores attended a pre- conference meeting Sunday. Our Bible study was on Psalm 121. Next week it will be on Isaiah 40:1-11. Remember in prayer Rolla Sweiger.

Altamont United Methodist

Twenty-one were present for the Fourth Sunday of Easter services. The prelude was given by Katharine Barker, “Let There be Peace on Earth.” Bell ringer and candle lighters were Samantha and Jennifer Bridgeman. Children’s time by Pastor Marilyn was “What’s Happened to Our World?”

The special was a reading, “An Angel in Some Way.” Offering bearers were Jesse Toney and LaVerne Allen. The scripture was “The Good Shepherd” from John 10:1-10. The pastor’s sermon was “The Unmistakable Voice.” Hymn of invitation was “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us.”

We still ask prayers of healing for Edna Wilson, Nina Allen and Julia Harrelson. Carolyn Youtsey presented a spring bouquet. Birthday offerings were given by Katharine Barker, Susie Walton, Francie Toney and Ethan Walton. Camp forms need to be in by May 1. Bertie Stith is our camp registrar.

Oak Ridge Church

Ten were present for Sunday School. The sermon was on Saul. A get-well card was signed for Woodrow Morris.

Gallatin United Methodist

Call to worship was given on Youth Sunday by Silas Fitzmaurice. Invocation was by Mackenzie Riley. Greetings and welcome were by Crystal Chadwick and Jessica King. Pastoral prayer and Lord’s Prayer were by Aaron Everly.

Pianist was Courtney Houghton. Offertory was played by Mackenzie Riley. Ushers were Aaron Everly, Garret Houghton, Mitch Riley and Sean Wood. Candle lighters were Katherine Everly and Steven Wood. Hymn of praise was “Jesus Loves Me.” Children’s moment was “Not to Pass Judgment” by Chasidy Renne and Heather Ott. Special music was by Anna Barton and the Sunday School children.

Scripture lesson was I Peter 2:4-12 by Lindsey Robertson. The message by Pastor David Fitzmaurice was “Put Your Trust Solely in the Lord.”

Pattonsburg Christian

Opening thought: “He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day.” Rev. Ben Awbrey’s sermon was “Salvation” from James 2:21-26. This finishes a series of sermons concerning faith and good works.

Please remember in prayer Pauline Plowman, Ava Pugh, Fannie Schroff (Wilma Jean Ross’ mother), Woodrow Morris, and Cloie Palmer (Sylvie Stitt’s granddaughter).

Jameson First Baptist

Rev. Jean Osborn’s morning message was “Death and Resurrection.” Missionary birthday was given by Travis Bohannon. Offering bearers were John and Colt Bohannon. Special music was “On Jordan’s Stormy Banks” by Crystal Cook, Rachel Fischer and Elaine Bohannon, accompanied by Linda Bohannon.

Those having birthdays were Virginia Johnson and Rachel Fischer. Dates for VBS are June 14- 19. Prayer needs: James Osborn, Marge Smith, LaVerne Drummond, Rosemary Bear, Ramona Dutro, Susie Chadwick, Colman Franks, Howard Bailey, Elsie Hall and Harry Rice.

Gallatin First Baptist

Morning worship began with the adult choir singing “More Precious than Silver.” The children’s message was “The Devil is in the Middle” from Proverbs 29, given by Bro. Allen and Miss Alice. Linda Arnold sang “It Came to Pass” as the ministry of praise.

Bro. Allen’s morning message was “The Walls are Broken Down” from Nehemiah. Sunday evening Bro. Allen continued in the Joshua series, studying chapter 8. Shelia Bridgman “signed” the song “For Those Tears I Died” as the special music.

Baptist Women will meet at the church at 1:30 on Wednesday for the lesson “To Whom Shall We Go?” The leader will be Mary Smith. Trustee meeting is at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Grand Oaks camp forms are due Wednesday. Sunday at 6:15 p.m. there will be a final planning meeting for those women going to “Outrageous Joy.” Please be sure to attend.

Gallatin First Christian

Hosts were the Donald Burns family. Herb Whitt and Chuck Culver were greeters. Brook Carder and Jamie Lunsford were candle lighters. Opening hymn was “My Wonderful Lord.” Debbie Sweatman gave the children’s moment. Pastor Smith’s message was “On Eagles Wings” from Genesis. During the worship service our graduating seniors were honored. Jon Culver, Brandi Carder, Katie Burns and Holly Garnett were each given a Bible.

Elders for the day were LaVaughn Thomas and Lucille Bruce. Kathy and Lauren Henderson were in charge of the nursery. Following the worship service a fellowship dinner was held in honor of the seniors at fellowship hall.

Next Sunday is a breakfast and Sunday School at fellowship hall for everyone. Prayer concerns were for Lee Robertson and Erma and Vicki Rains, who are both in the St. Luke’s Hospital. Lillian Lovitt and Ina Naylor have moved to Delmar Garden in Overland Park, Kan.

Lake Viking Church

The Wednesday ladies Bible study was opened with prayer and devotions by Ruth Bailey. The lesson was by Betty Cooksey on part two of “Instituting the Priesthood: God’s Holiness Demonstrated” from Exodus 29. Betty closed in prayer. The adult Wednesday evening Bible study was by Roger Lankford on “Daniel’s Prayer,” from Daniel 9. The young adults were taught by Rev. Hillman.

Prayer requests are for Mattie Jacobs, Jennifer Hogan, Gayla Satterwhite, Jared Barker, Joyce Becerra and Joan Pelon. Prelude music was by Cynthia Hillman, Sarah Frederick and Buddy Myers. Call to worship and the invocation was by George Jacobs. The choir sang “Have You Seen Jesus?” directed by Karla Worthington. Offertory prayer was by Roger Lankford.

Rev. Hillman’s youth message was “Who Should Listen to the Lord? All of Us.” Ministry of music was a piano solo by Sarah Frederick, “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.” The message by Rev. Hillman was “Walking in the Newness of Life” from Romans 6 and Ephesians 4. Benediction was by Ruth Bailey. Postlude by Sarah, Cynthia and Buddy was “Something Beautiful.” Welcome back to the ones who were gone for the winter.
