Fire under investigation by fire marshal

Officials are unwilling to release much information about a house fire that occurred Saturday near Civil Bend, as long as the incident remains under investigation.
Pattonsburg Fire and Rescue told the Gallatin North Missourian via social media that they were paged out to a structure fire at 10:28 p.m. on Jan. 11. The fire was extinguished, and the scene was turned over to the state fire marshal for investigation. The Daviess County Sheriff’s report also notes a house fire on DD Highway on Jan. 11.
David and Mary Mott were taken to a hospital after the fire at their home, according to one of Mary’s cousins. Mary Mott passed away and funeral arrangements will be pending at Roberson Funeral Home, after the funeral home meets with the family the morning of Jan. 15.
No further information has been released to this newspaper by the fire department, the sheriff’s office, or the fire marshal as of press time.
