Shonna Morrison has been reappointed to a new four-year term on the board of the Daviess County Library. The Daviess County Commission approved the appointment by vote during a regular business session of the commission at the courthouse on July 11.
The vote came after Jan Johnson met with the commission regarding recommended procedures in making appointments to the library board. Discussion included recommendations from the Missouri State Library.
Four persons expressed interest in serving on the library board. County commissioners acted upon the recommendation of the Daviess County Library Board in appointing Mrs. Morrison.
The July meeting of the Daviess County Library Board is slated for 4 p.m. tomorrow, July 19, at the library on West Grand Street in Gallatin.
The agenda includes such topics as options concerning gas wells, the Friends of the Library, strategic planning, decisions on memorial donations, and a review on updating bylaws. Financial topics will also be discussed including the 2019 budget.
A review of residency requirements for the position of library director is also on the agenda. Tomorrow’s meeting may also include a session closed to the public to discuss the salary of the interim director.
