The Missouri Department of Conservation would like to announce the open application period for its Discover Nature Girls Day Camp. This is a FREE girls only camp held at Hartell Conservation Area in Clinton County on July 12.
Girls Camp is aimed at introducing girls ages 11-15 to outdoor skills and obtaining hunter education certification. This camp will give them a supportive, learning environment to actively participate in “hands-on” outdoor skills. The girls will learn about archery, shotgun shooting, canoeing, geocaching and fishing.
These activities will be led by experts in their field, which will allow the participants to leave with the confidence to explore Missouri’s diverse nature on their own. At the completion of camp the girls will become Hunter Education Certified so they may continue using their newly learned skills.
For more information and to obtain an application form, please call the MDC office at 1-816-271-3100.
