The Gallatin R-5 eighth grade girls basketball team took first place at the March Madness Tournament held at Chillicothe, sponsored by the YMCA. Ten teams participated in the games. Team members are Kim Evans, Kamille Burrell, Kayli Burrell, Laura McCann, Jessica King, Jan Cook, Jamie Lunsford, Roxanne Davitt and Brooke Carder. The team is coached by Brenda Davitt and Dan McCann.
