Johnna Stephen, Courtney Lang and Mallery Heldenbrand will be advancing to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Ga., June 26-29.
Winning recognition at the state conference were: Johnna Stephen and Courtney Lang, 6th place in Desktop Publishing; and Johnna Stephen, Courtney Lang and Mallery Heldenbrand, 2nd place in Emerging Business Issues.
Johnna, Courtney and Mallery among other members of the Winston High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter recently attended the 2008 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held on April 20, 21, and 22 in Columbia. Delegates representing Winston in the state competitive leadership awards program were: Johnna Stephen, Geoffrey Van Wye, Mallery Heldenbrand, Bubba Legg, Courtney Lang, Rachel Michael and Bryan Lee. Kerrie Gannan is the local chapter adviser and accompanied the students to the conference.
FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs. Over 2,600 members and advisers representing 426 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
