Michael Davidson, 30, Plattsburg, was picked up by the Gladstone Police Department on April 4. He had fled from the Missouri Highway Department barn on Highway 6 west of Gallatin following an attempted narcotics drop on March 12. The site had been under surveillance by the Highway Patrol. He has been charged with attempt/possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, class B felony. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
Melvin Offutt, 23, Gallatin, was arrested April 6 for misdemeanor DWI. He was processed and released after 12-hour detoxification.
Clay Porter, 37, Gallatin was arrested April 6 for misdemeanor DWI. He is being held on $1,000 bond.
County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that they will install metal pipe culverts in the Jamesport area this week.
Bills were audited and paid.
The commissioners had planned to attend the legislative conference in Jefferson City on April 14. They will meet on Tuesday, April 15 that week.
Becky Simpson, Extension Council, met with the commission regarding storage problems and removal of obsolete items.
Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, and Jason Sackrey, deputy, met with the commission regarding a vehicle accident and the electricity at the storage building.
Mike Bohannon, Marion Township, met with the commission regarding the status of a roadway in section 32 of Benton Township. Records were checked back to 1975 indicating that the road had never been improved.
Kyle McBroom, McBroom Electric, met with the commission regarding the excessive electric bills at the storage building. He will inspect further to determine the problem.
The commission discussed the placement of extra recording equipment to be placed by the courts system. The commission will allow the equipment to be placed in their room at a desk, but not on the bench. Scheduling of any court cases must be done through the County Clerk’s office.

Circuit Court
Orville E. Newberry III plead guilty to child molestation second degree, class A misdemeanor, based on a plea agreement, on April 8. The sentence assessment report was waived, and he received a suspended imposition of sentence and two years probation, with conditions including 100 hours public service. The case was by heard by Judge James Valbracht.
Civil cases filed: Ellen Marlene Griffin, Jameson, vs. Rebecca Albrecht and Quentin Albrecht of Trenton, Brock Griffin of Sperry, Okla., Bobbie Ward and Jeff Ward of Gilman City, petition for partition of land.

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $1,126 for 19 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,244.50 for 20 cases.
