Winston R-6 recently honored veterans who have served or are currently serving our great country. The school created a slide show and invited students and members of the community to send pictures of their veterans which was featured along with patriotic music. Visit the school’s Facebook page at Winston Redbirds to see the tribute. Be sure and look at all the posts of students offering “thank you” salutes to the veterans.

Great faces, pictures, and great lesson for our country! Brenda Gree-Tjarks shared with Winston students that her father, Noble Green, far right, and his three brothers were veterans, and all were Winston Redbirds. Merle, second from right is 99 now and lives in Lathrop. Noble, Karl, third from right, and Lyle, fourth from right, are in heaven now looking down.

Winston first graders held an interview with Retired Staff Sergeant Robert “Bob” Lutterman. The students thanked Mr. Lutterman for his service and for sharing with the students.
