The Daviess County Board for the Developmentally Disabled will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, due to the Labor Day holiday. The meeting will take place at 100 E. Jackson, attorney Mike Arnold’s office, as usual.
The Allen reunion was held Aug. 1, at Dockery Park in Gallatin.
The Senior Wheels USA Program makes available power wheelchairs to senior citizens and the permanently disabled at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify.

Sen. Brad Lager hosted the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission this week in northwest Missouri as Commission members and MoDOT staff from across the state traveled to Cameron for their August meeting.
The 118th annual Jameson Picnic was held in the city park on Aug. 6-7-8.
U.S. Congressman Sam Graves will visit Jamesport as a part of his Main Street Matters Listening Tour on Wednesday, Aug. 19. It will be held at the Farm House Collection, 113 S. Broadway, at 9:45 a.m.
Community Blood Center, the provider of blood services to local hospitals, will be conducting a blood drive from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug.17, at the gym, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Gallatin, to help the local hospital patients in our area that depend on life saving blood donations.

Casey and Janet McMahon, Gilman City, wish to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Elizabeth to Jarett Webb, son of Jackie Webb Jr. and Jim and Sandy Gutshall, Gilman City. A Sept. 19 wedding is planned.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has adopted new income guidelines for free and reduced-price meals served at child and adult day care centers in Missouri.
Marie Long, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6 at her home in Gallatin. Services were held Monday, Aug. 10 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation was held Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Church of Christ or Comfort Care Hospice in Cameron in care of the funeral home.

Florence E. Parker, 105, Maysville, formerly of Cameron passed away on Aug. 11, 2009.
Graveside service and interment for Earnestine Mosser were held Tuesday at St. John’s Cemetery in Amazonia. Arrangements were by Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to God’s Mountain.
The Gallatin R-5 Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, in the high school library. During old business the board will discuss MSBA meetings. The regional meeting is Sept. 2 and the state meeting is Oct. 22-25.
