TRENTON, MO — Trenton High School has been selected as the first-ever “Army Strong Star School” and will be featured in a televised spot on KSMO-TV (channel 62) at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 22. THS was presented with the honor by Major Sean Skrmetta during an assembly on Wednesday afternoon. The U.S. Army and KCTV 5 have teamed up to recognize schools in the Kansas City area and Trenton was selected for the honor based on its community service efforts by organizations at the school. Superintendent Dan Wiebers nominated the school for the award, which also recognizes schools in the areas of academics and athletics. THS had 38 community service activities listed in its nomination form, completed by seven different organizations.
