Absentee voting times announced for election

Absentee voting for the November 8 General Election begin on September 27th and continues through November 7th at the Daviess County Clerk’s office in Gallatin. The County Clerk’s office will also be open on Saturday November 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The last day to request a ballot by mail is November 2nd.

Charles A. Barlow of Gallatin was convicted of DWI, chronic offender, class B felony, in a jury trial conducted in Daviess County Circuit Court on Sept. 19. The jury began deliberation at 3:37 p.m. and returned with a finding of guilty at 3:58 p.m.

Insurance coverage increases with new 911 system

The new 911 system serving Daviess County was installed during the week of April 25 and is fully functioning.

During the 911 Board meeting held May 26, Supervisor Dana Carder noted that the internet speed in the office had to be upgraded as the new system is Windows-based and the former access speed proved inadequate.
