Mona K. Brown, 90, passed away Feb. 10, 2008, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be held at Lake Viking Cemetery near Gallatin.

The Grindstone Gobblers Spring Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) hosted its Second Annual Spring Hunting Heritage Banquet at the Lake Viking Club House on Jan. 11. Cody Selby, Gallatin, was the recipient of the local chapter’s $500 scholarship.

The North Daviess FFA will be having a Community/Staff Appreciation breakfast on Thursday Feb. 21 at 7:15 a.m. in the agriculture building. Concluding FFA week we will have a member auction on Friday, Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the North Daviess agriculture building in Jameson.

2007-08 Wrestling: Wood, Selby qualify for Class 1 state wrestling venue

The Class 1, District 4 Tournament upheld its reputation on Saturday as one of the toughest state qualifying tournaments in Missouri. Last season’s D4 tourney advanced six wrestlers all the way to state titles. Four of those will try to repeat this weekend at the state tournament in Columbia.
