The Highway and Bridge Construction project involving Hwy.6 about four miles east of Gallatin is back on track, according to Daviess County Commissioner David Tolen.

Audit underscores necessity for recent electric rate hike

One message resounded above all others during the presentation of the City of Gallatin’s annual audit by R. Scott Stephens, CPA from Chillicothe, at last Monday’s meeting of Gallatin’s aldermen. For 2005, the city’s electric fund – traditionally the revenue source for this municipality — did not show a profit for the first time in at least 25 years.

Jake Alden is extension intern

Jake Alden is working as an intern this summer at the Daviess County Extension office located in the courthouse in Gallatin. As a community service assistant, he will help with 4-H activities and also do office work. Jake recently helped with a two-week 4-H camp in Trenton and will be assisting at the upcoming Daviess County and Jamesport 4-H fairs.
