Aspiring to be grateful

Only a portion of our extended family reunited around a Thanksgiving table last Sunday, a vivid departure from years past. Family gatherings every holiday with nearly everyone in his or her place once seemed an endless tradition. Our family, as families everywhere, has grown in different directions. Things change.

We take too much for granted. That reality was confirmed Sunday night.

The Writing on the Wall

Dw.cdrIt bothers me that so many of our public schools no longer teach cursive writing. I guess that’s because I relate back to the times of “B.C.” …before computers.
