10 Fatalities Over 2016 Thanksgiving Holiday

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 10 people died during this year’s Thanksgiving holiday counting period–from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016. Troopers investigated 400 traffic crashes, which included 124 injuries, and eight of the 10 fatalities. The Sedalia Police Department and Kirksville Police Department each investigated one traffic fatality. In addition, troopers arrested 103 people for driving while intoxicated and made 100

Trenton man hurt after van overturns

Trenton man received moderate injuries in an accident that happened on Hwy. B, about three miles east of Coffey, in Daviess County.

According to the highway patrol, at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, Brian Vaughn, 34, Trenton, was eastbound on Hwy. B. He was driving a 1999 Ford Windstar van. He ran off the south side of the road, overcorrected, and ran back across the road. The vehicle

Two from Mercer injured in accident

Two people from Mercer were injured in an accident that happened at about 12:50 p.m. on Nov. 17, in Daviess County.

According to the highway patrol, Gay Stark, 58, Mercer, was southbound on I-35 driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber. She lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel into the median. Her vehicle then returned to the roadway and struck the rear drive axle of a 2016 Volvo Conventional.

Area woman fatally injured in accident

A Cainsville woman was fatally injured in an accident that happened at about 12:55 p.m. on Nov. 9, in Harrison County.

According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred as Chrystal Everett, 34, Cainsville, was southbound on Route B, about two miles north of Mount Moriah. She drove off the west side of the roadway, overcorrected, and drove into the path of a northbound semi. The 2016 Peterbilt Conventional was

Two hurt in Caldwell County accident

Two area people were injured in an accident that happened at about 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 2 one mile north of Polo in Caldwell County.

Willia Rea, 54, Jamesport, was taken by private vehicle to Ray County Hospital in Richmond with minor injuries. Mayme Pilger, 72, Polo, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Caldwell County Ambulance with moderate injuries. Both were wearing their seat belts.

Gallatin man hurt in one-vehicle accident

Ronald Moore, 71, Gallatin, received minor injuries in an accident that happened at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, in Daviess County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mr. Moore was westbound on Hwy. 6 at Route DD, about four miles west of Gallatin. He attempted to make a right turn onto Route DD. His vehicle traveled off the west side of Route DD and struck a ditch.

A Hamilton man, Trent Clevenger, 25, received minor injuries as a passenger in a car involved in an accident at about 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, in Caldwell County.

Two men from Jamesport were injured when their pickup collided with a tractor and grain wagon at about 3:35 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, in Livingston County.

California woman goes off I-35, hits tree

Keondrea Richards, 24, Lancaster, Calif., received minor injuries in an accident that happened in Daviess County at about 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 22.
