Tax scams top the scam tracker

Tax scams have again topped the list of scam reports to BBB Scam Tracker, an online interactive tool launched in 2015 by BBB’s Institute of Marketplace Trust.

Electric charge to drop 23 cents

The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an application filed by KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (KCP&L-GMO) to adjust the Demand Side Investment Mechanism (DSIM) charge on customer bills.

According to the application, a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month will see the charge drop by approximately $0.23 a month, effective Feb. 1, 2017.

KCP&L-GMO provides electric service to approximately 316,600 customers in the Missouri counties

Jacob Swafford new wildlife biologist

Jacob Swafford has begun work as the new Soil and Water Conservation Wildlife Biologist for Daviess Counties and Harrison, Gentry and Worth.

“A big part of my job is building relationships with local landowners,” Mr. Swafford said. “I work one-on-one with landowners, providing wildlife technical assistance and help enrolling in local, state, and federal conservation programs.”

Trenton woman named to regional board
