Reenactment Planned, Battle of Plattsburg

It’s been 150 years since the Battle of Plattsburg (July 21, 1864) and the town plans to commemorate with a weekend of events free to the public, April 26-27. Perkins Park (east side of town) will set up an authentic Civil War camp, host two battle reenactments (Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m.), and present demos, ceremonies, children’s activities, a play – “The Jewel of Plattsburg,” live music, a period-style Sunday

Apply Now for a Full Scholarship, ACOT

ST. JOSEPH, MO – This year the American College of Technology — an institution through which all courses are online — has committed $364,400 to the Warrior Transition Command for a total of 10 full scholarships, amounting to $36,440 each. Five of those scholarships will be given to wounded service members, and five to their spouses or dependents. Scholarships cover the full cost of tuition, course materials, and fees.

Large ‘Pupulation’ at Shelter

Safety Announcement from Livingston County Sheriff

CHILLICOTHE, MO — Sheriff Steve Cox wants the community to be aware of a man who has been reported as driving an unusual vehicle and exhibiting strange behavior in the Livingston County area. He claims to be an ex-CIA agent, and while he’s done nothing to warrant arrest, he has been approaching individuals and thrusting audio recorders or cameras in their faces—possibly placing captured content online—in what appears an attempt

Benefit for Trail Ride

A benefit trail ride is being planned on Saturday, April 5, for Joseph William “J.W.” Heil, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.

The event will organize at Good Time Charlie’s, located northwest of Chillicothe just off Highway 190 and begin at 10 a.m. A whole hog roast meal is planned at 2 p.m. for good-will donation, followed at 3:30 p.m. by an auction.

Help Bash Trash Through April

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) encourage Missourians to do some spring cleaning outdoors and help fight litter through the state’s No MOre Trash! Annual Trash Bash throughout the month of April.

Gallatin Theatre Presents “The Fantasticks”

Northwest Missouri is in for a real treat this April as the Gallatin Theatre League once again presents quality live entertainment on the stage at Courter Theater in Gallatin. “The Fantasticks” will open at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, with performances on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, as well.
