Northwest Thunder Plans Fall Fundraisers

The Northwest Thunder 14U baseball team has planned two events for the month of September to help raise funds for equipment and tournament expenses. The Thunder team is made up of boys from Maryville, Tarkio, Stanberry, King City, Marshall and Higginsville. On Saturday, Sept. 6, they will host their first annual Thunder Bash Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball tournament at Donaldson Westside Park in Maryville. The tournament is a double elimination

Sports Collectibles Auction to Benefit Dream Factory

TRENTON, MO — The Dream Factory of Northwest Missouri has planned a fundraiser for October 17 at the First Christian Church, 1700 Princeton Road. Items autographed by famous sports figures, as well as other memorabilia, will be auctioned off. Tailgating and a silent auction begin at 4 p.m., followed by a live auction at 6:30. Boot Drive Fundraiser Returns

The Chillicothe Fire Department and Hedrick Medical Center will once again join forces to raise monies for breast cancer treatment. Donations will be accepted during Chautauqua at the Park on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7. Missouri State Highway Patrol Seeks Trooper Applicants

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, a premiere law enforcement agency, is testing for new troopers. The Patrol is encouraging qualified individuals of all backgrounds to apply, and will offer testing at nine different locations in Missouri. Those who successfully complete testing will be eligible to continue in the selection process for the 101st Recruit Class, scheduled to begin training on July 1, 2015. The application deadline is October 6, 2014.

Hypnotist Returns to NCMC

TRENTON, MO — Professional hypnotist Brian Imbus has become a staple act for North Central Missouri College’s fall semester opening weekend. Imbus is back for his sixth appearance, suitable for all types of audiences. The performance will be at the Ketcham Community Center on the NCMC campus on Sunday, August 17, 7:30 p.m. This event is open to the public at no charge.

GHCAA Women’s Clinic Scheduled
