Jail moves CD, opens another to meet future repair costs

Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail Administrator Ed Howard requested moving the jail’s Certificate of Deposit (CD) to a five year term in September in order to earn more interest, and to also transfer funds to another CD for future repair costs to the facility. The board approved the request. The CD account balance is $237,092.96.

Gallatin man held for domestic assault

Jarrod J. Boehm, 36, Gallatin was charged Aug. 30 with class A felony domestic assault, 1st degree; class C felony child abuse; class B felony domestic assault; class C felony domestic assault second degree; and two counts of class C felony felonious restraint. Boehm had been placed on 24-hour hold on Aug. 29.

Jamesport man loses towed unit on I-35

A Jamesport man received minor injuries in an accident that happened after a tire blew out on his 2001 Ford Excursion and his towed unit became separated on I-35.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at about 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, Bradley Russell, 32, Jamesport, was northbound on I-35 near the 61 mile marker, about six miles north of Cameron. The front driver’s side tire blew out,

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Incident Summary

8-30-16

3:45 p.m.-charges were filed for Jarrod J. Boehm, age 36 from Gallatin, who was put on 24 hour investigative hold on 8-29-16. Boehm was charged with Class A Felony Domestic Assault, 1st degree, Class C Felony Child Abuse, Class B Felony Domestic Assault, Class C Felony Domestic Assault and two counts of Class C Felony Felonious Restraint. Boehm is held at DDCRJ on $85000 cash only bond.

No Work Zones Planned Over Labor Day Weekend

All construction work on state routes in Missouri will stop starting Friday, September 2 at noon for the Labor Day holiday weekend.  Some work zones have permanent lane closures and barriers will remain in place this weekend. Some of the major permanent lane closure work zones include Interstate 70 at Fifth Street in St. Charles, Interstate 44 in the City of St. Louis and the Route 54/63 Missouri River bridge

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Seeks Trooper Applicants

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, a premiere law enforcement agency, is testing for new troopers. The Patrol is encouraging qualified individuals of all backgrounds to apply, and will offer testing at nine different locations in Missouri. Those who successfully complete testing will be eligible to continue in the selection process for the 105th Recruit Class, scheduled to begin training on July 5, 2017. The application deadline is October 3, 2016.

 Moving on down the road … the lost sheep of I-35

The first report came at 1:39 p.m. on Friday — a herd of sheep at the 63 mile marker of I-35; however they were not found when officers responded.

Another report of sheep on the interstate was made at 6:08 p.m. at the 61 mm, but again officers did find them.

One payment left on new 911 system

Only one payment of approximately $35,000 remains to EmergiTech for the new Daviess County Central 911 system.

Dana Carder reported to the 911 board during their meeting held June 30 that she had not been contacted by the City of Chillicothe concerning interest in joining the system.

The treasurer’s report was approved with bills of $59,771.44, revenue of $35,359.25, and a checkbook balance of $133,352.16.

8-16-16

9 am – Court in session.

10:40 am – Andrew Smith, 27, Kansas City, was taken into custody and transferred to DDCRJ on a Cole County warrant for misdemeanor making a false police report. Smith is awaiting pick up by Cole County with no bond.

12:18 pm – Report of person walking on I-35 at the 78mm.

2:52 pm – Assisting with medical call in Gallatin.
