DWI Saturation in Livingston County

During a DWI saturation that was conducted by the MSHP in Livingston County 11 p.m. Feb. 6 to 3 a.m. Feb. 7, four patrolling officers made seven criminal arrests, and issued 13 citations and 16 warnings: 2 – Driving while intoxicated arrests; 1 – Minor in possession arrest; 13- Summonses issued for traffic violations; 4 – Felony warrant arrests; 16 – Warnings. “Impaired driving poses a significant threat to motorists

Troop H Involved in Pursuit of Murder Suspect

On Feb. 4, 2015, around 10 p.m., Troop H of the MSHP received information which included the possible location of a murder suspect, Michael D. Burkman, from Wayne County, Mo. A warrant indicated that Burkman was wanted for 1st degree murder and armed criminal action in Wayne County, and assault on law enforcement officers in Bollinger County. Troop H officers soon observed Burkman southbound on I-29 in Andrew County, in

Daviess County Sheriff’s Activity Report

Joshua Stewart, 28, Albany, was taken into custody following a traffic stop Jan. 30 made by Trooper A. J. Webb on Route C, west of I-35 in Daviess County. Stewart was stopped for failure to dim lights within 500 feet and failure to have approved headlamps. He has been charged with two counts of possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, both class B felonies.

Calves Missing, $10,000 Reward Offered

Walt Morrell lost one round hay bale to fire on Jan. 29, on property adjacent to Barney and Shay Esbeck’s. (See our previous post about the Esbeck hay and tractor fire HERE.)

In a separate incident, he lost one round hay bale, plus gates and fencing, and a brass mail box, which were stolen about two months ago.

Arson Suspected in Hay, Tractor Fire, Reward Offered

Updated 2/3/15: The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information the public might have regarding a suspected arson fire that happened over Thursday night, Jan. 29. A tractor and eight round hay bales were set on fire sometime between 4 p.m. in the afternoon Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday morning.

The tractor and hay belong to Shay Esbeck and are located at 230th Street and Midway outside

The road & bridge crew are cutting brush, according to Supervisor James Lewis. They have been in Grand River and Union Townships cutting brush around bridges. Metal for the bridge on 242nd Street has been ordered.

Potential Suspect in St. Joseph

Buchanan County police are on high alert today (Tuesday), after a green Dodge minivan — Ohio plates GIT 6870 — believed to have connection with a murder was spotted on I-29 in St. Joe this morning. Police have reported that the vehicle, with a driver and two passengers, could be linked to the murder of two people in Ohio. There were reports of early lockdown at several St. Joe schools

Bald Eagle Killed in Clinton County

A juvenile bald eagle that had been shot, according to the MDC, was found dead beneath a tree in Clinton County earlier this week. Because the American bald eagle is a federally protected species, the person responsible, if found, could face up to one year in prison and have up to a $5000 fine. If anyone has any information, contact the Missouri Department of Conservation.
