Kidder Native New Information Officer, Troop H

City Joins MIRMA, A Self-Insurance Pool

Sheriff, Commissioner Testify About Regional Jail

Daviess County Sheriff Ben Becerra and Commissioner Randy Simms testified in a House of Representatives Committee March 6 on legislation they are working on with the county commission and their counterparts in DeKalb County which will continue to allow regional jails to operate. Existing statute authorizes regional jails, allows other counties to join their partnership, and also gives authority by the vote of the people

Jail May Switch Employee Health Insurance

Cliff Roeder and Aaron Duvall with Crow Walker Insurance were present at the Feb. 28 meeting of the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail Board held Feb. 28. They provided the board with health insurance information garnered from other companies. United Healthcare came back with the best rates and Roeder and Duvall will compare those benefits with the jail’s present policy through Aetna. Sheriff’s Office Receives NITRO Funds

On Feb. 19, the Northwest Missouri Interagency Team Response Operations (NITRO) presented the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office with a check for $10,000 dollars. The money is derived from assets forfeiture seizures. “The funds are greatly appreciated and will be well utilized,” said Sheriff Ben Becerra.

Adkison Pleads Guilty in Ohio

A Missouri man — who faces charges of kidnaping and assault of a Hamilton woman from last year — pled guilty to five criminal charges in Ohio and has been sentenced to prison. A judge sentenced Brian Adkison to two years in a Correctional Institute near Cleveland. Adkison receives credit for 160 days served since his September arrest in Ohio.
