Two hurt on Hwy. 69, driver arrested

Two people were seriously injured in an accident that happened at about 3:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, in Daviess County.

According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred as Aaron Balliett, 21, Cameron, was traveling westbound on Oval Avenue about four miles west of Altamont. He lost control of the 2010 Mercury Milan and traveled across Hwy. 69 and struck an embankment. The vehicle came to rest off the

ATV driver seriously injured, later arrested

A Pattonsburg man was seriously inured in an accident that happened at about 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, in Gentry County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Kalen Siddens, 25, Albany, and Dylan Willis, 25, Pattonsburg, were both southbound on Birch Street at Bethany Street in Albany. Mr. Willis was driving a 2002 Honda ATV. It struck the left rear of Mr. Sidden’s 2007

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Incident Summary

5-24-16

7:30 am – vehicle rollover accident on Highway 13 north of Coffey near Harrison County line.

8:47 am – car off the roadway on Highway 69 just north of Highway DD. No injuries.

1:19 pm – burglary reports taken on two businesses in Pattonsburg that occurred last week. $300 cash was taken from one business and $120 from the other.  There appeared to be no forced entry to either.

Sheriff participates in Drive Sober campaign

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office participated in Missouri’s May 2016 Youth Alcohol Enforcement Crackdown, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” which ran from May 5-16. Sheriff Ben Becerra calls it a great success.

The Sheriff’s Office reported one driving while intoxicated arrest, two drug arrests, two warrant arrests and one no valid license, as well as six felony arrests of miscellaneous crimes. There were 13 speed violations, three no insurance

5:45 pm – Butler County, KS, advising they have Cassandra Ellison, 35, Augusta, KS, in custody on Daviess County charges for probation
