Defense Class for Women

The Trenton Police Department will be holding a women’s self-defense and survival awareness class on March 14, in the Trenton High School wrestling room. Contracts Coming in for City Openings

Interim City Administrator Phil Tate reported on job applications that have been submitted for city administrator, city clerk and pool manager. Tentative plans are to keep open the administrator and clerk positions for 30 days followed by review and timeline for interviews. Pool Manager applications are due by Feb. 27.

Saturation Results in Two Arrests

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Daviess County.  The saturation was held from 10 p.m. on Feb. 21, to 2 a.m. on Feb. 22.

Jamesport man arrested after brief pursuit

Duane Swalley, Jamesport, was charged with 10 misdemeanors  after he attempted to flee from law enforcement on Feb. 21.

According to the probable cause, Deputy Todd Watson observed Swalley entering  a camouflage 2014 Polaris at Sunset Avenue and Missouri Highway 13, south of Gallatin, at 10:53 p.m. Swalley turned north onto Highway 13 at a high rate of speed, and was swerving across the

Jail Meeting Friday

Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail Board meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, in the training trailer at 102 N. Meadows Lane in Pattonsburg.

The board will hear a financial report and discuss training; high school tours; records disposal; and ORI Number during old business. Closed session will be held pursuant to litigations.

MSHP Enforces Buckling Up Campaign

Starting Friday, Feb. 20, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are enforcing a “Click It or Ticket” mobilization. Passengers will be targeted as well as drivers, and troopers throughout Troop H will be observing for child restraint violations, too. There is a zero tolerance approach with this campaign. Troop H includes Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, and Worth Counties.

County Commission

No commission meeting was held, as the commissioners were attending training.

Circuit Court

Linda Houghton began duties as a part-time deputy clerk in the Circuit Clerk’s office on Feb. 17. Mrs. Houghton also continues in the elected position of Daviess County Public Administrator, which is also a part-time position.

Man Wanted in Seven States

According to the Chillicothe Police Department, a Livingston County arrest warrant has been issued for a Kansas man accused of first degree burglary and stealing. The 36-year-old, believed to be in a 2008 gray BMW with Kansas plates, is wanted for questioning in multiple jurisdictions in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Any who could have information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Chillicothe PD.
