Regional Jail Will Turn Small Profit in 2015

The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail Board is projecting next year the jail will turn a profit. Not a big profit — $53,000 — but a profit, nevertheless.

Next year will be a trial year. It will be the first year the jail will go a full year with a vastly reduced number of counties being housed. Income is predicted from Caldwell; Daviess/DeKalb; Livingston; and Sullivan. In the years before the jail

Harrison County Arrests “Most Wanted”

Jeremy T. Sims, 20, Coffey, who was on the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” list, was arrested by a Highway Patrol officer last week near Coffey.

Sims was wanted on a Harrison County warrant charging him with the distribution and delivery of a controlled substance.

Wanted Suspect in Custody

On Jan. 15, 2015, at approximately 10:07 a.m., Troop H received information regarding the possible location of a suspect, Bradley E. Chapman, 35, from Green City, Mo., being in the Trenton area. A Sullivan County warrant indicated that Chapman was wanted for felony assault and a parole violation. Information was developed that placed the subject at a residence in Trenton.

Officers Pursue Stolen Vehicle into Daviess County

Two persons were arrested Jan. 10 following a pursuit that started in Cameron at 2:59 a.m. and ended in Daviess County in a collision with a patrol vehicle.

The chase began when a maroon Nissan SUV westbound on U.S. 36 failed to stop for Cameron police officer Jonathan Bransfield who had initiated a traffic stop for speeding. The vehicle made a right turn onto I-35 North, made a right turn

Polo Bank Robber Nabbed in Richmond

Oran F. Woodfin

A suspect has been taken into custody after he was alleged to have robbed Bank Northwest on Main Street in Polo in Caldwell County on Friday evening, Jan. 9. Richmond Police arrested Oran F. Woodfin, 30, later Friday night at the Super 8 motel.

Around 5:30 p.m. Friday, the suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. No weapon was displayed, although the suspect gestured

Jail Holds Budget Hearing

The Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail will hold a budget hearing at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the training trailer at the location of the jail, 102 North Meadows Lane, Pattonsburg. The DDCRJ meetings are open to the public.
