Share the Scare at Trunk or Treat Event Halloween night

Daviess County Fine Arts Council is presenting Scare on the Square Trunk or Treat from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, on the Gallatin courthouse square.

Everyone is invited to decorate a pumpkin, a trunk, give out candy, or just take a stroll around the square.

Deliver your pumpkins to the courthouse lawn from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Submit the pumpkins to be judged or to just add

Historic Squirrel Cage Jail Gets Scary

The 2nd Annual Haunted Halloween Squirrel Cage Haunted Jail will be presented from 6-11 p.m. on Oct. 31; and 6-10 p.m. on Nov. 1. The James Boys and other cowboy characters will be in the jail for fun antics! Donations are always appreciated.

Thirty Years of Theater Now on DVD

History is repeating itself. Work is complete on copying the past 30 years of Gallatin Theatre League productions onto DVDs for ease of viewing. Rhonda McCann and Garrett Pettit transferred the productions. The Daviess County Library will make them available for the public to check out.

Events Announced for Christmas Around the Square

Gallatin’s second annual Christmas Around the Square will unfold on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with more than 40 vendors participating in the craft fair. The fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at four different locations.

Santa and Mrs. Santa will arrive at the courthouse by sleigh at 2 p.m., with pictures by Tannah Terry. Sleigh rides will be available, and strolling carolers

It’s Curtains for the Gallatin Theatre League

Thanks to Gallatin Theatre League patrons, the Courter Theater stage will have a fresh new look on opening night, Nov. 20. When the curtains go up on “All Aboard…Revisited,” they will be brand new.

After careful consideration of fabric content, color, and style, the Gallatin Theatre Board voted to purchase new curtains to be installed within the next six weeks. Our current curtains were purchased

Old Time Harvest Days Approach

CHILLICOTHE, MO — The 28th Annual Old Time Harvest Days will be Sept. 26-28 at the Livingston County Fairgrounds. Features include cars, tractors, antique machinery, old time skills, demonstrations, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, dinner, Laura Ingalls Wilder stories, and more, as well as parades and church services. Poker Run at Pattonsburg Benefits Special Olympics

An off-road poker run will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Old Pattonsburg school grounds. The event is sponsored by Rob’s Cycle in conjunction with Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Special Olympics of Missouri. Side by sides, ATVs, dirt bikes, and UTVs are invited to participate.
