Braymer man pleads guilty to $300,000 cattle fraud

Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Braymer man pleaded guilty in federal court today to a cattle fraud scheme that the government contends resulted in losses of nearly $300,000 to his victims.

State Audit finds 43rd Circuit Court contracts and disbursements not handled properly

Auditor Galloway releases 17-page report prompting judges to sever involvement

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway released a 17-page audit of the 43rd Judicial Circuit Clinton County Court to the public on Friday, Oct. 30. The audit noted concerns with the handling of contracts for a third-party vendor to provide misdemeanor probation and pre-trial/bond supervision services.

Altamont couple now charged with witness tampering

An Altamont couple charged with domestic assault back in August is now facing additional charges of witness tampering.

According to the probable cause report, Jarrod Cook and his wife Amy Cook were in contact approximately 258 times by phone between Aug. 19 and Oct. 24, 2015, while she was incarcerated at the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail on one felony and one misdemeanor charge of domestic assault.
