Former Trenton man sentenced for producing child porn

Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a former Trenton, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court for attempting to produce child pornography after secretly filming several victims in the shower.

Edward Allen Stieber, 49, of Brookfield, Mo., formerly of Trenton, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips to 25 years in federal prison without parole.

Man who escaped northwest Missouri jail sentenced to 15 years for rape

Brian-Adkison-150x200A 25-year-old man who escaped a northwest Missouri jail cell has been sentenced to 15 years for rape.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that Brian Adkison was convicted in Boone County in July of raping a woman in 2013. He was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison. Prosecutors sought a 30-year sentence.

While he was out on bond in the case, Adkison is accused of kidnapping the same woman

New Hampton man charged with hindering prosecution

Jerry Lee Stevenson, 49, New Hampton, was arrested in a traffic stop on I-35 north, exit 78, for lying about his identity, among other things. He was charged with hindering prosecution, class D felony, and transported to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail.

According to the probable cause statement, Stevenson had no identification on him after being stopped for speeding (87 mph in 70 mph

Petition to disincorporate Lock Springs goes forward

Several residents of Lock Springs have signed a petition requesting the Daviess County Commission authorize an election to decide whether the village should disincorporate. Daviess County Clerk Vicki Corwin notarized the petition yesterday, Sept. 29. Mrs. Corwin said she has verified 17 correct signatures of the 33 registered voters; enough for it to go forward.

Iowa couple found with meth in traffic stop

On Sept. 27, Travis Leon Beam, 45, and Amy Beam, 46, Grimes, Iowa, were arrested during a traffic stop on I-35. During the stop, they were found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Their 5-year-old daughter was in the backseat of the vehicle. She was released to a relative at the request of the Beams.
