Judge Aulgur Receives Award During Court Conference

Judge Robert D. Aulgur received the Past President Award from the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association (MMACJ) during the 2014 Annual Courts Conference held May 21-23 at the Lodge of the Four Seasons in Lake Ozark.

Judge Aulgur serves as ex-officio officer for MMACJ. Judge Aulgur was elected to a position on the board of directors to represent District 10, which is comprised of municipal and associate circuit

County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commissioners to work on the road on Vista Avenue in Sheridan Township.

David Allen met with commissioners concerning brush removal in the county.

County Clerk

Absentee ballots are available in the county clerk’s office beginning on June 24. Deadline for absentee voting in person in the clerk’s office is 5 p.m. the day before the election.

Daviess County Sheriff Activity Report

6-17-14

9:30 am – Sheriff out in Cameron on investigation.

9:30 am – Response to report of individual out of control.

10:17 am – Sheriff out on residence check on investigation.

11:11 am – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (SO) took one into custody. Individual was taken to DDCRJ and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold.

1:27 pm – Business in Jamesport advising of break-in. Three Jamesport businesses have reported break-ins

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that the crew completed shelving and installed a tube at 140th and Prairie Avenue. They also reviewed a low water crossing in Harrison Township, removing debris and dirt left from high water.

Daviess County Sheriff Activity Report

A Daviess County deputy received minor injuries while pursuing a vehicle on Yard and 330th Street eastbound around 1 a.m. on June 7. Chief Deputy Todd Watson ran off the road and was injured during the pursuit. The car was damaged but drivable. Deputy Watson was cleared to return to work on Tuesday. Damage estimates on the car are pending.

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commissioners to discuss soft match paperwork and bridge repairs, in addition to repairs on roads in Sheridan Township. The road and bridge crew are working on shelving for the courthouse offices due to the rain.

New voter registration cards mailed this week by county clerk

County Clerk

Daviess County Clerk Vicki Corwin has announced that a voter canvass is underway. State and federal law requires that voter registration records be canvassed every two years. All voters in Daviess County will receive a new voter registration card.
