Altamont Man Jailed for Arson, Assault

As reported in the sheriff’s report last week, Terry M. Roberts Jr., 43, Altamont, was charged Nov. 7 with assault 1st degree, class A felony; assault 1st degree, class B felony; burglary 1st degree, class B felony; and arson 1st degree, class B felony.

Additional Drug Charges Reported Against Jamesport Man

As reported in the sheriff’s report last week, Allen Tolen, 49, Jamesport, turned himself in on two Daviess County warrants on Nov. 10. The charges were no valid license, felony D, with bond set at $25,000; possession with intent to deliver, felony B, and possession of firearm, felony C, with bond set at $50,000. He was transported to the DDCRJ.

Daviess County Sheriff’s Activity Report

11-10-14

5:53 pm – Trespasser on property.

7:05 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (SO) arrested Mamie L. Hayes, 36, Gallatin. Hayes was transported to DDCRJ on a Daviess County warrant with charges of hindering prosecution of felony – felony D.  Bond was set at $15,000 cash. This charge was in connection with the capture of Jasen Wright, the Mercer County Jail escapee who was taken into custody in Gallatin.

County Commission

The next commission meeting will be on Nov. 26, as the commissioners are attending the Missouri Association Conference on Nov. 24.

The road and bridge crew will be cutting brush beginning in Benton and proceeding to other townships in the county.

Trial Date Set for Wrongful Death Suit

A trial date was been set in a federal wrongful death suit filed against the jail by Janet Harris of Maysville. The parties will go to trial on Feb. 1, 2016. Court records said other pending trials for some of the parties involved required the later date.
