Wooderson Reunion

Burnetts Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Walter and Peggy Burnett will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21. They were married at Grandview Baptist Church in Centralia on June 21, 1964. Volunteers are building a new Daviess County Country Club clubhouse. The 40 x 60 building will have metal sides and a roof with a twelve foot overhang. No one is sure when the first clubhouse was built, but it was originally used as an airport hanger, placing its construction in the mid ’30s.

Smoke in the Park Heats Up

The 2014 Smoke in the Park will be held June 20-21 at Dockery Park in Gallatin.

Main judging is at 12 noon Saturday. People’s choice judging will follow the main judging. There are four categories for barbecue: chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket.

This is a non-sanctioned event and KCBS rules and regulations will apply.

All proceeds go to VFW Post 2172.

Stephen-Wood to Wed June 14

Johnna Stephen, daughter of Thomas and Carmen Parkinson of Weatherby, and Sean Wood, son of the late John Wood Jr. and Carla Feigly and husband Doug Feigly, will be wed at 4:30 p.m. on June 14 at the Lake Viking Clubhouse.
