Swofford Reunion

The Swofford biennial reunion was held Aug. 11 at Dockery Park in Gallatin. Fifty-four Swoffords from Missouri, Iowa, New Mexico, Virginia, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas gathered in for a day of sharing, eating, and acquainting the younger generations with the older ones. Salmons Celebrate 75th Wedding Anniversary

Olen and Virginia Salmon met in high school and — as they say — the rest is history.

Carl Harris Reunion

The Carl Harris reunion was held Aug. 9 at the home place on Lake Viking Road with around 100 attending. Relatives and friends enjoyed a lunch and visiting. There were rides on John Deere tractors as well as a go-cart; four wheelers; and power wheels. Largest family attending was Jimmie’s. Some of them came from Washington State, Arizona, Montana and the Kansas City area. There were 19 in all.

Smith-Adams Engagement Announced

 

Jerry Smith of Camdenton announces the engagement of his daughter Mikayla Smith to Ben Adams of Gallatin. Ben is the son of Tom and Mary Adams of Gallatin. Ben is a 2009 graduate of Gallatin High School and a 2014 graduate of Missouri State University. He is currently enrolled at the Blue River Fire Academy and will graduate in December. Mikayla is a 2011 graduate of Camdenton High School.

The winners of the Super Team Contest were announced at the 2004 Missouri State Fair. Placing first was the team of John Runde, Gilman City; Katie Jarboe, Gallatin, Hattie Rains, Gallatin; and Heath Oram, Gilman City. This was the second year in a row the team placed first.
