Culprits defacing election signs will be prosecuted

Defacing or even stealing campaign signs now dotting many private yards at residences throughout Gallatin are not just minor acts of vandalism. Police Chief Mark Richards says in most cases culprits will face misdemeanor charges with penalties up to $500 in fines and/or a one-year sentence in jail if successfully prosecuted.

So far election yard signs belonging to candidates Sally Black and Kevin Heldenbrand are those reported stolen or defaced.
