When Dottie Doak Thompson asked her cousin a question about family history that neither could answer, they both realized there was nobody alive left to ask for information.

“Nobody Left to Ask” became the name of Dottie’s book.

“I realized the family story would end with us, if I didn’t get it written down,” she said.

You can go to Amazon and read the description and the first few pages of Dottie Doak Thompsons’ book “No One Left to Ask.” The book's cover shows the houses and farms connected to her family:  About a mile south of Gallatin is the home of Harry and Sarah Doak. At the corner of Rustic Lane and Highway 13 is the home of her great grandparents James and Anna Lewis Parker. Farther down the lane, the little house where she was born. A little farther is where the Doak family farm was located; and where her five older brothers were born. On down closer to the Grand River is depicted the Tarwater home place.
