The Missouri Department of Conservation in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Caldwell, Carroll and Ray Counties will be presenting a Quail Management Workshop at Pete Blair’s Riverview Properties, three miles south of Cowgill from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.
Topics to be discussed: quail biology; quail habitat requirements; CPR management practices; other cost-share programs; conservation contractors; warm season grass establishment and maintenance.
Demonstration practices: covey headquarters establishment; nesting and brood rearing cover; CRP conservation practices and management.
