Nicholas Dias Art Work in State Competition

Nicholas Powell Dias, a senior at Gallatin High School, will be going to state competition with his pencil-drawn portrait of President Theodore Roosevelt. Nicholas is sponsored by the local V.F.W. and Ladies Auxiliary through the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards. “Theodore Roosevelt is the embodiment of the American spirit,” Nicholas explained. “From the hills of San Juan to the Oval Office he led with power and compassion for the American people. This kind of leadership is the highest form of patriotism one could possibly exhibit. Seeking quality for all people and raising awareness for national parks, he dedicated the entirety of his life to the land that he loved. That’s why I believe that Theodore Roosevelt was one of the greatest patriots of all time.” [Staff Photo/TLH]
