Pattonsburg R-2 Hires New Administrators

Pattonsburg’s Board of Education hired two familiar faces as new administrators during their meeting held Feb. 19. Troy Clawson has accepted the position of superintendent of the Pattonsburg R-2 School District starting July 1, 2014. Becky Morris will serve as assistant administrator.

March 24th Meeting to Focus on Tax Proposal

If you have questions about the proposed city sales tax to be voted on the upcoming April ballot, then make plans to attend the March meeting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen.

Adkison Pleads Guilty in Ohio

A Missouri man — who faces charges of kidnaping and assault of a Hamilton woman from last year — pled guilty to five criminal charges in Ohio and has been sentenced to prison. A judge sentenced Brian Adkison to two years in a Correctional Institute near Cleveland. Adkison receives credit for 160 days served since his September arrest in Ohio.

Teen Charged for Pornography, Resisting Arrest

Jeramy Sanders, the Pattonsburg teen sought by law enforcement last week in connection with a missing female juvenile, has been charged with three unrelated felonies.

A statewide endangered missing person advisory had been issued for the 14-year-old. Apparently, Megan had traveled from Grundy County to Daviess County with Jeramy, 17, on Saturday, Feb. 15. They were to return to Grundy County on Sunday but didn’t return as expected.

Primary Races Evident at First Filings

Feb. 25 (yesterday) was the first day for candidates to file for county offices. The last day open for filing is March 25.

35 GHS State FBLA Qualifiers Represent Best Showing Yet

Gallatin FBLA participated in the District I Leadership Conference held Feb. 19 at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville. Gallatin FBLA had its best ever showing, with 35students qualifying to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Columbia on April 13-15. Two members were also selected to serve as District I officers — Aubrey Nelson, president, and Rachel Rogers, parliamentarian.

Bulldogs Advance to Class 2, D16 Semifinals

Gallatin teams easily advanced to the semifinal round of the Class 1, District 16 Basketball Tournament held at East Buchanan High School.

The top-seeded Lady Bulldogs swept past St. Joseph Christian, 59-22, on Monday to earn a berth against #4 East Buchanan in tonight’s (Wednesday) 6 p.m. game. Second-seeded South Harrison faces Maysville in the other semifinal contest.
