Daviess County Sheriff Activity Report


11:30 am – Sheriff’s Office (SO) out on funeral escort.

1:42 pm – SO out on investigation in Jamesport.

5:16 pm – Caller asking if he had outstanding warrant.

7:38 pm – Rachel Franklin, 33, Princeton, was arrested for FTA on a charge from St. Joseph PD. She posted a bond of $175 and was released.


11:05 am – Grundy County advising they have person in custody on Daviess County charges. Robert Nichols, Jr., 39, Jamesport was transferred to DDCRJ on a FTA warrant for misdemeanor passing bad checks. Bond is set at $600 cash.

12:18 pm – Ray County advising they have person ready for transfer to DDCRJ for Daviess County charges. Paul Burstert, 45, received a sentence of 280 days jail time for Daviess County that had not been served yet.

9:40 pm – Response to domestic dispute in Gallatin.


10:05 am – DaKalb County advising of vehicle off the roadway, I-35 and 6 Highway.


5:30 am – Caller wanting to speak with SO regarding report from a few years ago.

10:43 am – Report of van down the embankment on I-35 at the 60mm. One vehicle, no injuries.

11 am – Vehicle slide off on Highway M north of Breckenridge. No injuries.

12:50 pm – Out with semi in middle of Highway 13 south of Gallatin for traffic control. Broken down, has wrecker coming.

5:03 pm – Report of vacant house broken into.


12:05 am – Report of slide off on I-35 at the 78mm. No injuries.

12:12 am – Report of slide off on I-35 at the 90mm. No injuries. Advised Harrison County.

1:44 am – Response to call from MoDOT, worker reporting semi on its side on I-35 at the 63.6mm. Driver out of vehicle and is not injured.

2:08 am – Response to call from MoDOT worker reporting semi stopped on I-35 at the 80mm.

2:23 am – Deputy reporting roads are slick and zero visibility.

6:16 am – MoDOT advising car into ditch on Highway 13, north of Coffey.

3:51 pm – Response to alarm call at residence south of Gallatin.

5:33 pm – Ccall reporting abandoned car on Highway P near Jameson.

11:06 pm – MSHP requesting assistance with traffic stop near Altamont.


1:30 am – Report of car driving southbound in the northbound lane on I-35. SO and MSHP responding but car was not located.

6:49 pm – Response to 911 call regarding domestic situation in Jameson.

7:20 pm – Mandie Brown, 32, Jameson, was taken into custody from above call. She was transferred to DDCRJ for 12 hour detox hold.


10:09 am – SO out on call.

11 am – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office took into custody Mervin Mast, 44, Gallatin. He was transported to DDCRJ on a 24-hour hold pending investigation. Warrant was issued on charges of unlawful use of loaded firearm, felony D and armed criminal actions, felony unclassified. Bond is set at $35,000 cash.

12:41 am – Caldwell County advising Lucas Harpster, 23, Chillicothe, turned himself in on warrant issued from Daviess County for probation violation on original charges of class C felony theft. Harpster will be transferred to DDCRJ. Bond is denied.

 1 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christa J. Tate, 22, Trenton. Tate turned herself in on a Daviess County Warrant with charges of endangering welfare of a child, 1st degree, felony C. Bond of $35,000 was posted.

1:30 pm – MSHP arrested Carl A. Asher, 27, Winston. Asher posted bond for FTA on a warrant from Cameron Municipal on seat belt charge. Bond of $85 was posted.

4:24 pm – Harrison County wanting to speak with deputy.
