Gallatin Will Host “The Moving Wall” Aug. 21-25

The Veterans of Frank Frazier Post #2172 of Gallatin and the citizens of Gallatin will be hosting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall from Aug. 21 through Aug. 25 at Dockery Park in Gallatin. Originally the event was scheduled for September. Please mark your calendars for the August event.

City Still Looking for Trucks

City Administrator Zac Johnson told the Gallatin Board of Aldermen at their meeting held Jan. 27 that the city continues to look for a service truck for the water department and an oiler truck for the street department.

Gallatin Police Chief Mark Richards stated that officers have been marking streetlights that need repaired for the electric department. The 2002 Dodge Dakota has been transferred to the utility department.

Sports Sign-Ups at the Park

Gallatin summer ball sign-ups will be available on Feb. 1 at the Gallatin school, city hall, or they may be printed off the Dockery Park Facebook site.

Forms should be returned to the school or city hall as soon as possible. Due dates are noted on the forms.

Leagues include:

Ages 4, 5, 6 — t-ball

Ages 7, 8 — machine pitch

Girls softball — 10U, 12U

Bulldog Jayvees Take Second in Own Tournament

Taylor Sloan reaches high above a group of players, including teammate Tristyn Siegel, to grab a rebound in Friday night’s half of jayvee girls’ play, won by Gallatin, 26-15.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated South Harrison, 40-8, in their opener but fell to Lawson, 48-24, in the championship game.
