Zucchini

A garden small I did create,

A plot of land to cultivate,

To grow some food for me to eat:

Some yellow squash, tomatoes sweet,

Some peas so green, a special breed,

And one little zucchini seed.

 

I tendered, toiled, and labored hard

To make that garden in my yard,

And as I watched with loving eyes,

My little plants began to rise.

And soon

    So apt, so true
    Is your zucchini view.
    When in the yard right
    it carries great might.
    Yet in my yard tis quite sad,
    Zucchini won’t grow, I’m really quite mad!
