Worms Plague Alfalfa

Calls this past week have come into the Extension office regarding worms in alfalfa. The worms being found are alfalfa webworms. They feed on the top part of the plant, eating the leaves and pulling them together making a web. Most fields should be harvested and then treated if insects are still present.
