Auditions for Children’s Production ‘Princess and the Pea’

Auditions will be held Monday, July 22, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the Courter Theater in Gallatin, for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) performance of “The Princess and the Pea,” a program of the Gallatin Theatre League.

Billy Gene Ballard 1928-2013

Born in Gallatin, Mo., September 1928, passed away in Loma Linda, Ca. June, 2013.

Survived by his wife Evelyn of 46 years, sons Ron and Bruce Adkison, daughter Melody Martin (nee Ballard) and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly by all.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from the post office after 50 years of service.

Daviess County Sheriff Activity Report

Jamie Kelley, 37, Oak Grove, and Johnny Rainey, 39, Gallatin, were arrested by Trooper J.P. Lynch on June 18, when he contacted them in a Ford F350 on the shoulder of West Grand Street in Gallatin near Missouri 6 with a golf cart in the back.

County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they will be working on the replacement bridge on Cedar Avenue in Washington Township.

Following an inspection by the commission earlier in the month, there was deliberation and discussion of the use of the property at 611 West Johnson with Betty Harmison, assessor.

Water Plant Finds a Home, Electric Rate Increase for July

The City of Gallatin purchased 3.71 acres for $15,000 for the location of the new water plant, according to City Administrator Zac Johnson. The necessary documents will be closed on this week. The land was purchased from Dan McCann and is located on the corner of Corrine and Rocky Road.

A wholesale rate adjustment of one cent per kilowatt will be on July’s utility bills.
