Gallatin’s golfers combined to shoot a 372 on Monday at Fairview Golf Course in St. Joseph. That was good enough to place second in the team standings and make their first trip to the state meet as a team since 2005, and first ever state appearance since MSHSAA went to a district/sectional qualifying format.
Gallatin finished three strokes behind first-place Mound City and nine strokes ahead of third-place Mid-Buchanan.
Grant Simmons placed fourth out of 50 competitors with an 84. Bradley Rhoades shot a 92 and placed 14th overall. Chris Cameron finished his round with a 95. Wes Cole wrapped up his round with a 101. Tyler Carder ended the day with a 107.
The state meet will be held next Monday and Tuesday at Silo Ridge Golf Club in Bolivar.
