Bulldogs Sweep Both Sides of Cardinal Relays

With a combined 10 first place finishes and another six runnerup spots, Gallatin varsity track squads captured both the girls’ and boys’ team titles in last Thursday’s Cardinal Relays held at North Andrew High School.

Overall, the Bulldogs garnered points in 25 events, including nine in which they placed more than one individual in the top six and four, in which they took first and second.

Capitol Report: Tax Reform in 2013 – Will It Happen?

GHS Academic Teams Play Well in Tough Season

Robertson named to All Conference

The Gallatin High School Academic Team finished the regular season 6 and 3 and placed fourth in a very competitive district. Chad Robertson was named 1st Team All Conference.

This year’s all-female junior high team finished with a 2-6 record. Meredith Riley was the high scorer for the season.

Jail Hears Budget Analysis

DDRJ board minutes

Melanie Stice from Cameron Accounting analyzed the first quarter budget for the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail board during the meeting held April 26, and reported the facility is maintaining its budget.

Discussion was held on the Kansas City contract. There is a possibility the jail will be transporting on Saturdays for prisoners with commitments.

Ron Gibson 1952-2013

Memorial service for Ron Gibson was held Saturday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. Mr. Gibson has been cremated.

Ron Gibson Sr., 60, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his residence.

Ron was born July 22, 1952, to Virgil and Mamie (McKim) Gibson in Gallatin.

He lived most of his life in St. Joseph, where he attended Central High School and worked as a Security Officer at NMPRC, from which
